Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats
"I want to go around like the light-footed goats." - Joanna Spyri, Heidi

The Nigerian Dwarf dairy goat has a rich and interesting history, beginning with small West African goats that were brought to the United States between the 1930s and 1950s. Many were first kept in zoos and later became valued as companion animals. Over time, breeders began selecting the more refined, dairy-style goats apart from the stockier Pygmy type, developing the Nigerian Dwarf into the miniature dairy breed we know and love today. They were carefully bred for dairy character, gentle temperament, and quality milk production, making them a beloved choice for small farms and homesteads across the country. Though small in size, these sweet goats have big hearts and quickly become adored members of the farm family. Their gentle nature, playful spirit, and manageable size make them a joy to care for and a wonderful addition to any farm.
